KRCP Accomplishments

The Koke`e Resource Conservation Program (KRCP) is an organization that took on the responsibility for protecting one of Kaua`i’s irrreplaceable natural treasures, the Koke`e and Waimea State Parks and the Alaka`i Swamp primarily through the removal of alien invasive plants from the native ecosystem.  Operating out of the historic CCC Camp in Koke`e State Park, KRCP has coordinated the removal of over 7 million invasive specimens over more than 6,000 acres, some of which includes repeat acres, in these areas.  Since its inception in 1998 well over 18,000 local and visiting volunteers have contributed to this vast forest restoration effort.  Working collaboratively with State and Federal agencies and with international NGO’s, KRCP is helping to restore the vital natural and cultural heritage of the island of Kaua`i.
